Today we visited the Sydney aquarium down by the harbour. It does not hold a candle to the Atlanta aquarium. Nonetheless, it was a great experience. The entire building had statues built out of lego's. Someone with some serious dedication must have spent tons of time on these. After, we all went over to the mall and at Pancakes on the Rocks again. This time, it was located in the shopping mall and not the original location. Afterwards, we visited "On Cotton", an Australian clothing store to see what we needed to fit in better. As ridiculous as it was, we all came out with tank tops and other get ups. I suppose the saying "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" applies to this situation also. We are well prepared for our beach trip tomorrow with these. After lunch, we took the bus back to the University of Sydney's campus. One the way, we stopped by the liquor store for wine. I think the guys working there are going to think we have a problem, but it is New Year's Eve and you can't beat 4 for $15.00AUD here. We went to see the fireworks down my the harbor. It was absolutely insane how many people were there. Upon our arrival 4 hours the first show at 9:30, the city already had closed off the best viewing points because they were too crowded. Luckily, we found a spot to sit on a closed street to watch both shows. We also met two great people, Patricia and Alfred, who are both locals here in Sydney. They sat with us the entire time and served as great entertainment. Look at the pictures from the aquarium below.
Lego sculpture.
This turtle has the longest head I've ever seen.
It looks like the product of a mixed relationship.
Penguins
The underside of some sting-ray looking fish in the tunnel.
Looks like an asian smiley face.
